Part 1: Compare and contrast what happens after Jesus dies on the cross in Mark and Matthew. Part 2 respond to 2 discussion post:A. I chose the question what does discipleship entail according to Mark Ch. 8, 9, and 10?Discipleship entails many things but the number one thing I get from Mark Ch. 8-10 is acting as God would and not as human. My favorite example of that is Mark 8:33. This is after Jesus was explaining to the disciples that “the son of man would suffer many things and be rejected by the elders, chief priests, and religious teachers. He would be killed but three days later would rise again.” as told in Mark 8:31. It continues in Mark 8:33, “Get away from me, Satan, You’re not thinking as God thinks, but as human beings do.” Jesus proclaimed. This proves what discipleship entails.References:https://www.bible.com/bible/1932/MRK.8.FBVNTPSALMSB. For this discussion, I chose the question “What does discipleship entail according to Mark Ch. 8, 9, and 10?”. These chapers reveal that discipleship entails denying oneself, following Christ, and giving up one’s life for Christ’s sake (as written in Mark 8: 34-45). It also entails listening to him (Mark 9: 7). What I basically gathered from these scriptures is living a life of selflessness and following Christ’s teaching and commandments.
