The Government of India Act (1858) and the Proclamation by the Queen (1858). A textual analysis means you can do any combination of the following: (1.) Summarize the two documents; (2.) Find an interesting aspect from both documents and then write about why it is interesting or surprises you; (3.) Make sense of the documents and their historical significance by writing about the context of them (for this, you can use the lectures and/or the book and write about nationalism, imperialism, or the rise of the West in a general way).
