SAMPLE RESEARCH PROPOSAL HypothesisA hypothesis is a statement or prediction about the relationship between variables which, in this case include biology (genes, hormones, neurotransmitters) and environment (language, attitudes, behavior). You will support your hypothesis quoting and citing using previous studies. You will find them in the Proquest Psychology Journals Database, located in the College Library’s online Database.SampleThis step involves selecting and naming the group you will study. The sample population may be selected randomly or non-randomly. Data collection method(s) you would use. For example, you could use verbal reports, behavioral observation, physiological measurements, experiment, or mixed methods (See Chap. 1).For Verbal Reports your data could be the words or statements made by your sample population participants; this information could be obtained through questionnaire, interviews or video recordings.For Experiments your data includes the behavioral, cognitive and/or emotional responses to stimuli introduced or presented by the researcher and which is intended to produce a particular, predicted, or hypothesized response. Stimuli may include visual images (pictures of facial features, symbols), text (statements of known and unknown racists, findings of studies on intelligence across races).
