Choose ONE of the characters in LOTF and explain with textual evidence how the character develops through the course of the novel. Instead of citing specific page numbers, please just cite specific examples from the text. This essay should be three WELL-DEVELOPED paragraphs. In the opening paragraph, you should introduce the character you are talking about and some general information about him at the beginning of the novel. You may even want to talk about your initial thoughts about the character.The body of the essay should include at least FIVE specific examples of how the character changes/develops through the course of the novel. The body of the essay should be the longest paragraph, and you should add your own insight beyond the examples. For example, if you choose Ralph for your character, give a specific change in him, and then tell what you think about that change–whether it is emotional, physical, etc.The concluding paragraph should express what you think of the character at the end of the novel and also how the things he does in the novel affect him and the outcome of the novel. You can also cover how the changes in him affects or impacts others in the novel. A nice way to end this essay is with the impact the changes in this character has on the outcome of the novel.
