Why is it relevant to understanding gender identities and womens lives in India, Pakistan and Bangladesh? Feel free to bring in your experiences, knowledge and observations about the issues under discussion. You may resubmit responses if you have less than 65 over the course of the semester. Responses likely to receive 85 points and above are 800 words, have direct quotations, descriptions of scene, and analysis- these essays dont just summarize, but ANALYZE and discuss, critique, or question the material. They may incorporate personal reflections, previous knowledge, and also questions. The reading can lead to questions, perplexing concepts that the essay can address and give voice to. Essays may also critique the material and show light on its gaps, shortcomings. Why write a response? Students often ask this question- answers are simple and range from- It lets me know that students have read/ watched and critically engaged with the material. It lets me understand what is confusing for students. It lets me know that students can draw relations, comparisons and contrasts with the material.
